FAQs - Printing Options
What are the different coating options that you offer?
Gloss Coating:
Gloss Coating (AQ) is a fast-drying, water-based, protective coating that is applied in-line on press to provide a more economical approach to your printing. Gloss coatings create a printed product that is resistant to fingerprints, rubs and scuffs and it lasts longer than average varnishes. Not suitable for writing on.
C1S (Coated 1 Side) Paper:
While C1S is often referred to in the same category as a coating, since it is treated before the print process, it is more accurately a paper option. C1S is a paper that is treated with a gloss coating on the front, while the back has no coating at all allowing you to write on it with a pen or pencil or print on it with an Inkjet printer.
Matte Coating:
The Matte Coating process is a more economical approach to coating. This coating is less shiny and provides moderate protection against scratches and scuffs. Suitable for writing on but is not compatible with all types of pens and markers. This coating is compatible with some Inkjet printers.
U.V. Coating:
U.V. Coating is a very high-gloss coating applied to the printed-paper surface and dried on press with ultraviolet (U.V.) light. The high gloss surface of U.V. coating makes your print job very eye-catching and durable and is very popular for marketing materials that need to gain immediate attention. Our premium U.V. coatings enhance and give greater color depth to your print jobs. Blacks will shine and reds will appear to be flush with pigment. U.V will make your colors so vibrant they will appear to “jump” right off the page. U.V. coated jobs are also abrasion and chemical resistant, providing a protective barrier against wear and tear caused by handling, display and use. U.V. coated paper is a great option to endure moist conditions.
Is there an extra charge for bleeds?
No, we do not charge any extra for print jobs that have a full bleed. Unlike many other print companies, all of our prices include full bleeds free of charge.
The bleeds added to your submitted file should be 1/8" on all four sides of your document. Due to the very small shifting that may occur during cutting, it is not recommended that you use a border of less than 1/4” if your design calls for the use of a border. We cannot guarantee that small borders will be the same size after trimming if you have used a border of less that 1/4”.
